Hedemora
With a reputation for being one of the hardiest chickens in the world, these calm and friendly birds are a landrace breed meaning that they naturally evolved rather than being specifically bred.
Classed as very rare, there are just a few thousand of these chickens worldwide being split between Sweden and the USA. (I acquired these birds as eggs directly from Sweden) They are a small bird, slightly larger than a bantam laying somewhere around 160 light brown eggs per year. Also available in a ‘woolly’, with feathers similar to a silkie chicken. In my breeding trio I have one woolly hen so eggs from these birds may have the woolly gene.
THESE WILL BE AVAILABLE LATER IN THE SEASON
